David was born on 4, July 1891 in Pittsburg, Alleghenny Pennsylvania.
Davids father was Sylvester ( Cecil ) Crothers / Carothers, and his mother was Hannah Jane Denning Crothers. Sylvester was born sept/21/ 1851 in Pittsburgh and buried Flatwood Fayette Pennsylvania.
His grandfather was James Carothers born abt. 1835 in Ireland.
David enlisted on Sept. 8, 1917 until June 11, 1918.
He was a Pvt. HDQS C0 320 Infantry
He partook in the Battle of Somme, Battle of Verdun, Battle of Meuse – Argonne and Battle of St. Michiel.
David died on 14 Nov 1966 in Mercer County Pennsylvania and is buried at Mercer Citzens Cemetery.
